Hi Deidre! How time flies!! Can't believe our boys have been home for 6 weeks...yikes! Duffy also has doubled his weight - around 12 lbs. now but really isn't a voracious eater. Doing rrrreally well with the house training....just hope it continues. He started going on walks on the beach, playing with another dog here at our house (knew he was safe) and playing lots with us. So far he's had no interest in the pool, but, of course, we haven't been swimming yet, so that all remains to be seen. One thing for sure, he loves the shower! He'll walk right in and wait for his turn to be bathed! What a goofy guy. He's stopped nipping, but still loves to sneak into our closets and steal a shoe which he proudly parades past us! Still loves his bully sticks - discovered the big ones REALLY stink - the smaller ones are better. My friend brought over a marrow bone (raw). She'd scooped most of the marrow out and trimmed off the fat. She gets them at the butcher and keeps them in her freezer for her dog. HE LOVED IT! He must have gnawed on that thing for over an hour! Definitely getting some! It sure is fun watching him grow and develop his personality.....so far so good! he's such a sweetie and is so good around other people and dogs. I'm going to try to post some more photos....maybe even a video! take care, give Corkey a tickle and keep in touch. Nancy
The bully sticks are definitely Duffy's favorite. He's also taken to the little soft toys (4 pack) that I found at Costco. He has lots of fun cuddling with them and fetching them. Yes, he's actually fetching! I guess that's the lab in him coming out. We don't tug the toy away from him (really don't want to encourage the tugging instinct) but just wait until he drops it and then we throw it again for him to fetch. How much does Corky weigh? I think Duffy had put on some oz...will have to weigh him today!
Duffy isn't a real voracious eater either...he seems to graze. He sure does love his Bully Stick - he'll sit for ages and chew on it. Make sure you get Corky some!
We're working on his potty training - or I should say or response to his needs!
Hi Deidre, Congrats! Aren't we the lucky ones! Duffy is settling in very nicely and is so playful, happy, and eager to meet new people. Which puppy did you get? We have Mister Green (appropriate for the Geenbergs...I guess it was a sign!!) Because our house is about 13 steps above ground level, we thought we'd try the boot tray routine for early morning piddles, but so far he shows no interest in the tray and chooses to pee on the tile floor in the laundry room. Is you pup taking to the boot tray thing? post some photos when you have a chance. Keep in touch. Nancy
Weather hear looks good for air travel until Tuesday of next week so I think your puppy will arrive on time..Good luck and keep the pictures posted..Patty has told me that Scarlett and Bettys litter have all played together as one big happy group. Congradulations...Zoey is a wonderful dog and Patty did a wonderful job with them so be assured that you are getting a very well adjusted puppy.
