As many of you know, I lost my beloved 6 year old australian labradoodle, Paz to T cell lymphoma in May. I had placed a deposit on a puppy from a planned litter, and the breeder contacted me with the great news that the mommy dog is pregnant, and the litter is due September 7th. I should be able to fly to North Carolina on November 11, to pick up the puppy!
We met ours as well last weekend, and she pretty well choose US. When we got there they were all in a pen, and she waddled right up to us and stayed with us for the whole visitation. We did play with all the puppies but when it came down to it we had an instant connection with this one. And since we had first pick it worked out perfect. TEN more days until we bring her home....this is worse than Christmas. LOL
Lynda, she is just gorgeous. I'm going to be picking up a puppy in November and taking it on a plane with me. Just wondering how big your puppy is, and what carrier you used, as well as the size?
She's here, and what an absolute sweetheart. I flew to Spokane to pick her up and not a fuss at all on the plane, and not even any crying that night. Only problem so far is that she likes to pee on the doggie beds outside. I think it is a territorial thing to get her scent on the beds that have been used by the other dogs.
Gotcha day is in 18 days!! I'm So excited!
Julie and Elllie..... puppies are like children... stop often for a potty break and something to drink. If you put water in the crate, it will more than likely get knocked over and get everything and puppy all wet. Offer food on regular feeding schedule...though if unsure of travelling, she might not eat. (this is another reason to stop for potty breaks). :) Make sure you have leash on the puppy and are gripping it BEFORE opening car door . You never know when they will take off. Relax and she will more than likely sleep most of the time. Good luck and enjoy!
We will be picking up our fur baby girl on June 16th! We will be traveling about 9 hours by car to get her. Does anyone have any suggestions for traveling that amount of time with an 8 week old puppy?
