About Me:: I'm married with no children, live in central North Carolina. I enjoy reading, traveling, fishing, and anything animal related.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: Katie, Goldendoodle female, 4 years old, love of my life
Piper, Cockapoo female, 1 year old rescue that has taught me patience

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Breeder, Rescue

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: After our sheltie passed away from cancer my husband and I could not decide on what kind of dog to get. I wanted a standard poodle, he wanted a golden retriever. (We had never heard of a doodle at that time.) I got on the internet and during searches for both breeds, voila!, the perfect dog for us!
Piper the cockapoo came along both to get her out of her current situation and to provide some dog companionship for Katie. That has also worked out pretty well. She absolutely idolizes the ground Katie walks on and since Piper didn't have the socialization she needed as a pup she doesn't crave human companionship so doesn't compete with Katie for our attention.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: They love boat rides, swimming, running on the beach, chasing squirrels and getting dirty.
Katie has started her CGC training, Piper will start basic obedience in the spring.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: Nope!

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: Local groomer - Susan Creager

First Ever Blog about my pups

So I guess this is like an online journal of sorts? Okay - what's up with Jan today?

Guilt - I need to exercise my dogs more. It's difficult to go on walks in my neighborhood. I live outside city limits where there is no leash law and my next door neighbors have 3 big labs, my down the street neighbor has 3 large mixed breeds and the house next to them also has large dogs (only 2!) and none of these dogs are confined EVER. I think you have some gorgeous photos. There are so many of them that are unique, like the one with the puppy sleeping by the computer. Is one taken in an airplane?

They are just the best of buds, we love having the two. They both have their CGC and Buddy is a therapy dog with TDInc.
