About Me:: We are retired at Sun Lakes Country Club in Banning. We lost our Basset Hound mix last June and we had her for 14 wonderful years. This fall we decided we were ready for a new member of our family. We found a wonderful Austrialian Doodle at the Doodle Romp in Seal Beach. We were able to adopt her yesterday. She is 9 months old.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: We just adopted Mattie. Its is only her second day here and she is adjusting to our home. She is settling in although she is very shy right now. She tends to want to be around me rather than my husband but we are working on it. She is very curious and slept through the night in her crate. She is eating very little and has only peed once.

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Breeder

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: I met some friends on an RV trip that had a doodle

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: We liked the breed and read a lot before we got Mattie

She will go to a rehab and then we need to decide what to do from there. I don't think we could afford someone to be with her 24/7 so, although she will hate me, I think we are going to have to put her in a senior place with assistance available all the time.

Teaching doggy doors is super easy. Stand outside and call her - hold the door open for her if you need to, then hold it less and less. Give her a treat if needed.
