Welcome to DoodleKisses and the Australian Labradoodle group. This is the best website for doodle lovers everywhere. Please post lots of photos and ask any questions you would like. I have an ALD and have had a labradoodle and a goldendoodle. I am getting a sheepadoodle next. They are the greatest dogs. Enjoy.
There was an Australian Labradoodle mentioned on the link Karen referred to that shed, but it was stated to be an Australian Labradoodle F1. No such thing. Multigenerational Australian Labradoodles aren't categorized in the F categories because they don't shed...... they do require brushing to avoid matts, however.
AUSTRALIAN MULTIGENERATIONAL Labradoodles are bred to eliminate the shedding and other negatives from that breed. Multigenerational being the key. ALD Multigenerational are only bred to other ALD's Multigenerational, so the mix of breeds are back farther in the line. A reputable breeder is important also. Most doodles in other categories as Goldendoodles/Labradoodles that use the grades of F1,F2,F3 etc... have a chance of shedding .
I did mention that 14 weeks is too young for new coat to come in and just giving a heads up as to how important it will be to brush the puppy coat out to avoid matting during that time.
I have two Australian Multigenerational Labradoodles and they don't shed.
I didn't see Australian Multigenerational Labradoodles mentioned in the link Karen sent, but could have missed it.
