My doodle will be a year old Dec 1st. He too has been matting and shedding. He's getting his adult coat and losing his baby fluff. Sounds like that is what you're going through too. I got Ozzy cut, but not shaved. I'm using a conditioner after bathing him and that helps with the matts, along with a Les Pooch brush that Kemp sells.
