Hi! So I will be picking up Harper this weekend and am so excited. I put her crate in my bedroom. She will need to be crated for a few hours a day when I am at work, and I am wondering if it is ok for her to go in the bedroom crate during that time, or should I get a second crate for the living room. Those will be pretty well the only times that I crate her. Thanks!

We ended up with two crates. I kept banging up the walls carrying his crate up and down the stairs. I like having the second crate that we keep in the family room so when I couldn't watch him while at home he was still around us. I'd start with one and see what works for you.

I had the larger crate for daytime, and a smaller crate for night time. It gets old hauling a crate around. She couldn't be trusted when she was little. Even just little things like walking out to get the mail, I crated her.

Same here, 2 crates, 1 upstairs and 1 down.  Puppies need sleep just like babies so I used the crate downstairs alot.  It worked very well for potty training as well.  I was home so I kept to a play/outside/sleep schedule :)

One bad thing about two crates is whether she will grow out of them soon. Will you to buy two more crates? I have Medium size doodles, and I ended up buying two different sizes as Yogi grew. I suppose if your getting a standard size, it could be more.

A pen might work for day time downstairs plus it folds up easier to store if you, like me, gets sick of looking at it.

Thank you all. I will start with the one in my room and if I need another one for the living room I will get it! Hopefully one will be enough. As you said, I don't want to keep moving it back and forth. It is huge lol.
