14 Days of R&R - Really?

Astro was neutered yesterday and his release instructions are...please sit down...3 days of confinement or very limited movement and 14 days of taking it very easy, leash walking and wearing a lamp shade. Ha! I think in DoodleWorld this is truly impossible. We have not even made it through the first 12 hours and he has jumped over the gate, jumped on the bed and rolled like a maniac in the grass and tried to chase the cat. REALLY 14 days of the lamp shade? Help!

Neither of ours needed the lamp shade after their neuter. We just kept an eye on them and corrected them if they tried to lick.

Our vet said 10 days of "quiet"...we made it ~7 days with Dexter and 3 days with Kirby. Having 2 of them made it almost impossible to keep them quiet :) I think 3 days of confinement is a bit overkill, but I am not a vet and certainly won't tell you to not listen to your vet.

Just be careful...if we didn't get Dex some significant exercise he would start trying to jump and we thought that would cause more harm than some long walks (we called the vet and he agreed). Good luck :)

Thank you. He is on some tranquilizers now and is just hanging out. At least he won't go crazy now.

Oh joy. We are going in for neuter on Friday. Wish I knew how to teach the command, RELAX or CHILL. :) I am on my way to buy underwear too. Sounds great. I wonder if disposable diapers or pull up pants like UnderRoos will work? No, that is not a great idea. I forgot about all the shredding.

I just stood at WalMart confused at the boxer briefs. A sweet lady kept looking at me as if to say serious lady you don't know what size to buy your son. Ha! I don't have a son. I have a BIG puppy. Well, I didn't go there, but I can only imagine the expression on her face if I did. I ended up getting a boys large. We will see tonight. He is resting now that we got the tranquilizers. They don't knock him out but make him much more mello. I would highly recommend.

Thank you again, Yvonne. I will purchase boys large--preferably Spider Man Design or something like that. I also made a list to ask the vet and included some " Drugs" for my dog. This 14 day instruction is a joke!!! LOL I am also going to look into A Super Huge Onesie, like the one Kyoko used or the lyrca tight fitting shirt I saw posted on DK months ago.

HAHA...we used a human tee shirt (my husband's) if they tried to lick. I am dying laughing at the thought of a doodle in boxers :)

Sounds about right, Kyoko, and I had boys but I don't even remember how to buy. Maybe the package will tell me.

I think I will get him some with cute designs so he looks nice! I'll be sure to get a picture if I can.

It was horrible when I got my 2 pups spayed and neutered at the same time... and I had family in town visiting!! Seriously! How do you keep your 2 puppies from playing with eachother??? I crated them alot and only let them out on a leash for the first 2 days. Motta was fine after that. Miley was not and I crated her for almost a week!!
