I read today in Dogfancy magazine that the Obamas are thinking about a goldendoodle for their family dog after the election, win or lose. I have heard that before, but the first time I have seen it in print. Wouldn't that be great - to have one of our own in the White House? Tiger Woods has a labradoodle, so we are all hanging with celebrities. Yeah for doodles!
IDOG was hoping that doodle owners would spread the word to anyone in his campaign about IDOG Rescue/Rehome. So if anyone is involved with his campaign...let 'em know!
I remember that IDOG had recommended rescue/rehome, but in this case I think a new puppy would be a better candidate. There could be a possible behavior problem with a rehomed dog, and that should be avoided at all costs. We need a "perfect" example of a goldendoodle in the White House.
Hi Lynda:
Many of IDOG's rehomes are given up by their owners for financial reasons & other personal problems, and rarely do they have behavior problems outside of those you would find in any dog or puppy...chewing, digging, etc. Many people just do not think it through before acquiring a dog, and of course, no one can anticipate the future. We also frequently get puppies, and even breeder rehomes.
It is important these days to let people see the great dogs that are available for adoption through no fault of their own. There are many, many here on Doodle Kisses alone.
Oh, I know, there are wonderful dogs out there to adopt, and all kinds of reasons why they need a new home. However, there are also many children all over the world who need to be adopted, and orphans who need parents, and people continue to have their own children. Why?? The world doesn't need any more children. Just a thought.
Maybe you should all vote for a Labradoodle for President sometimes dogs have more sense than humans, knowing the turmoil on Oz politics at the moment. LOL or maybe not
