Skin Irritation From A Sanitary Cleanup!

Hello, I took my 2 mini doodles into the groomer just for a sanitary cleanup (around the private parts) and they both were shaved down to the skin! Thier poor little buns look like they have rug burn!! Any ideas on what I can put on them to soothe thier irritation down there? Any ideas would be very appreciated!

Thank you so much for this advise. It was a "Petsmart type" place, it was called Pet-Co!
Your dog looks alot like my Ruffa! Do you have more pictures of him? If you want look at my Ruffa, they really look similar!

Hey Kar!..How's my favorite outspoken broad doing today??...lol........let me tell you...When I first got Blake, I took him to PetCo to be groomed.....The result?...5 months later unbeknownst to me he was completely matted at the skin!!! They never combed him through!..I do not recommend Pet Smart or Pet Co for grooming.......They suck!..lol....You are right ...Small private shop....Number one question to them before going?..."Do you know how to clip a Doodle?".....Bring photos of other dogs with similar coats as examples!!!...There are plenty to choose from on this site alone....

We clip Rusty ourselves and when it comes to the "sanitry clean" my Dh uses a separate set of clippers we keep for this purpose and they are not hot as they would be if they used for the rest of the body and we haven't had any problem with "burning", any way if I think there may br a problem I rub some Aloe Vera lotion on him and it soothes.

Hi Nicole, As an Anastheisa free doggy dental hygenist see www.pettoothaireies.com, (not working right now bcs of my body in bad shape) I have worked in a lot of grooming. shops. I suggest that no one leave your dog alone with the groomer. Take your bills to pay or a book and stay with your dog.s Then be sure that a groomer use a #10 blade for sani clips and nothing lower like a 9 or 7 on your dog anywhere. The lower the number the closer the shave. Also, be sure that the groomer spray the clippers while doing the sani clip. They should be sprayed every 3 or 4 minutes at least. The spray cools the blades. I've seen too many dogs mistreated while the owner is gone. I never left my kids in the hospital alone either. for the same reason. I put a mat under the crib in the hospital & slept there. Observed other people's children being mistreated. I couldn't protect all of them. Puppy love from Joy & furry folk & the Twinkle*** 2 puppies (Twinkles) available 9 weeks. Potty trained 15 days no accidents.!
