ACANA is made by Champion, the same who make Orijen. In an ongoing effort to collect information I would love to hear from those that are using this, have used it, etc... AND what do/did you think of it? Thanks!
Hi Ann! My dogs LOVE Orijen, especially the 6 fish. At the premium store I shop at, they say that is the last resort when the dogs cannot seem to eat anything else. A good friend of mine had her weimeraners on benadryll daily and has been able to cease this since starting them on this over a year ago. At our store they jokingly call this 6 fish formula 'crack for dogs' ~ no offense meant, just that they go nuts for it. Our experience supports this, but it can be cost and geographically restricting. Also at one point there was apparently a fish shortage there in Canada and it became difficult to get. I am told that in your neck of the woods they do not have near as much garbage approved by the government as they do here in the U.S. and much production is 'cleaner', perhaps you could enlighten us on that point?
As you know I am always up to my eyeballs trying to follow this topic : ) Our distributor has just brought in the ACANA grain free line, it is definitely more economical than the Orijen. Both lines do have breeder and frequent buyer programs. The protein levels are a bit lower on the ACANA line which is my preference for the puppies.
I will be happy to share more if you like as I find out, I was hoping to get some user response here also.
