Good morning! I enjoyed the post that Adina started a bit back about what breeders wish people knew. I was thinking that as a breeder I would love to know what both puppy owners and prospective owners want us to know. Please share the good and the not so good as I know I speak for many when I say that we want to keep moving forward with the good and correct that which is not. Feel free to comment on the 'shopping' process all the way to where you are at. Thanks so much for taking the time to help all of us.
That is such a great point Chelsea. Also the younger you start them on that the less it seems to bother them. We have a couple that will literally let us pull them with our fingers while laying across our laps. We usually just work on them a little at a time so that it doesn't become too much of a big deal for them or us. Have a great day!
The funny thing is I never expected my breeder to teach me things. Because I was such a thirsty seeker of information, I did tons of reading before my pup was born and after that I felt okay with what I knew and knew where to find more info when I had questions.
However, the one thing I could NOT get enough of was information about the puppies as they developed. I was a bottomless pit for that and photos :-) They change soo much in that first 8 weeks that for me the most important thing is getting lots of photos and what I think would be cool for every breeder to give out (though I realize time is not always on their side being so busy) is a CD with photos taken in those first 8 weeks (or however long puppy is with breeder).
