Addison's

My one year old Labradoodle Hank was just diagnosed with Addison's I am heart broken he became ill after getting his vaccinations the vet and I both though he had reaction to the lepto shot and he would get better but he didnt and I had to take him to emergency vet he was there for 3 days and was diagnosed with Addison's I know with meds he can live a long life and be ok I am just worried does anyone have a doodle that has Addisons and how are they doing?

you are lucky. i know this sounds crazy but last year my 1 year old goldendoodle "LucyLu" all of a sudden (out of nowhere) got sick and Addisons would have been good news. very long story and 10 days at Akron, Ohio neurological hospital and she ended up having meningitis. My lucy didn't make it. But DR.AXLUND was terrific and has saved countless dags. They save dags all the time and they see 1 or 2 a week with problems like this. he probably would have been able to save Lucy but she also had a compromised ammune system that kept his expertise from working, If I had a problem or wanted to kn ow if more could be done for my "member of my family" I would at least CALL him and set up a time for a phone consult. He knows Addisons. Maybe there isn't more to do. And that's ok. At least you'll know that from one of the BEST neuro doctors in the country (vet) and there are not a lot. I'd offer to pay for the call as a consult and I'd feel real satisified that his answers or information was the best there is and that I went the extra mile to find out so! If you already found a doctor like him in your area of the country??? my hats off to you as well. 

Keep your chin up. Hank will help you. With his meds (if there isn't more that can be done right now....and rememberthat's right now. you never know what's right around the corner to come out new!) he will live a long and wonderful life as long as he has you :)

Thank you I have found a great vet that has a lot of experience with Addisons so I am thankful for that and the fact that Hank is back to his crazy self and loving his sister Bailey they are playing all the time again and he really is the sweetest Doodle I am so thankful for both my doodles.
