Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Ok, so I have heard from friends, vets, all sorts of people different things. For some reason when I ask things on here i feel like i get a better answer!
We have LOTS of ticks in our state. In town they are not so bad, and Schulz has only had one on him this year so far. However I seldom take him out to the farm when i work with the horses because of that fear. What is a good medicine to prevent ticks? I hear good and bad from all of them! I just one one that works and wont hurt Schulz.

NOTE-Advantage does not help with ticks. K9 Advantix does.
If you use this product and have cats, you have to be cautious.
I use K9 Advantix II
But you have to consider your area. We have had MANY debates on here about what is the best product. I don't think anyone came up with a real answer in any of these discussions. We all use what we think is the best product. Of course. Some how, they all are different.
I'm in Southern California and use Advantage Plus for Camus, with good results.
My doodles are on Advantix II and never saw a tick or flea on them.
Wally is protected by a combination of Advantix Plus and the Lyme vaccine. We split our time between a Boston suburb, where we often see deer in our yard, and Cape Cod, where there is a serious tick problem. We have had much greater success with Advantix Plus than with Frontline.
I AGREE!! IN the northeast, Advantix is the way to go!!!! Lyme disease is awful!!
We use Revolution for fleas, ticks and hearworm.
Same here.
I have only had success with Advantix! It also seems to last through regular grooming.
I was told that you need to apply it at least two days before grooming or two days after.
