I don't even notice the ads. And if the ads are what keeps DK going than I'm all for it, so long is the content is appropriate. I heart DK.

I don't really have a lot to say about the ads, like others I am trained by this point to ignore all ads. I barely notice them. However, I do want to say to a couple of people who are talking about DK membership fees. I personally think that would be a terrible idea, because it would lower the amount of members who would join. Just remember, not everyone has extra money every month that they can pay towards this site, some of us WOULD prefer the ads. I know it sounds whiny, but for some of us every dollar DOES make a difference. I'm a college student on a budget, and although I donate as much as I can to DK, I would hate to have to leave because I can't afford the monthly membership fee. What if the fee was higher than people could afford, people who really wanted to be a part of this site? Let's not make anyone have to make that choice.

 

 I do appreciate this site and it is a priority, but honestly there is only so much I can do right now and I think that goes for many others as well. I doubt Adina and Clark would make this a mandatory membership fee site, as they probably realize it would limit the members greatly. But for those suggesting it, just try and remember that there are members of value here who can't pay a membership fee.

I think the solution that Clark mentioned, for which apparently the technology does not as yet exist would be good. He mentioned that at some time possibly people who wanted an ad free site could pay a membership fee, while others would not. That seems fair to me. What do you think?

Yes, I think that seems perfectly fair. Hopefully they will be able to implement that soon. :-)

I don't know what's going on because I recall a message sent telling us there would be ads and why. It's just change as I see it a lot of people don't like change. If it supports the site big deal? This was all explained to us in the announcements or an email. It's up to you if you want to look at them or not.
