Am I the Only Nut Case that Talks to My Doodle Like He is Human???

Today while I was doing stuff around the house, I was talking to my two dogs like they were human...I was complaining about the mess that was in the den, and I suddenly realized that I was talking to my dogs, lol...Like they were going to answer me???..They follow me around and I swear when I talk to them they listen, and understand what I am saying...Am I the only one who does this? I have always done this with all our dogs, and I guess I am too old to change...But maybe the men in the white coats will come and get me..., lol

Now, Cheryl, surely you must know that you are not the only one who talks to the doodle, lol! I myself not only talk to him, I ask for advice.

glad to hear that u ask for advice, lol, I will have to try that one, lol...Ollie & Renny are really a lot smarter then some humans I know, lol...so their advice would prob. be better....

It is amazing how much they pick up from just talking to them. My hubby used to think I was a little nutty talking to them like I do but now he does it too!

Mine too! All of the time. But he is a little nutty! He actually sings to them after I've left in the morning and makes up songs for them and about them. See I told you he was nutty.

They do understand a lot. Sometimes I think they know what I mean when I tell them it's raining out because they can make associations we know. They run upstairs when I tell them there's a treat and head toward the stairs. Luca runs to his bed because he knows that will be my next request.

I always tell them to hurry up if it is raining, and they seem to do that too, I don't think they like the rain, lol

I always talk to my dogs, but then it is just the three of us in the house. I think they listen, and when I take them out shopping I even ask for their advice. Of course I do what I want anyway, but I always ask them first. Winston is a very good shopper, he is very patient. Freya is a good shopper too, the first thing she ever eat was a J.Jill Catalog. I did have someone in Home Depot ask if they ever talked back.
