Yesterday, Elizabeth and I went to speak with the doctor about Annie's long term care. He gave us a list of all her medications and told us all about her very serious Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She is a very sick girl- he rated her an 8 out of 10 for how sick she is. There is no doubt that she would have died a very painful death alone if she were not caught.
She was in very good spirits- no doubt because she was able to leave the hospital!
At this point she is having very runny diarrhea and doesnt have control of it. Her behind is is a little raw and really bothers her so thats the reason she must still wear the double cone. Even with that she is able to work her way around it. We put her in a diaper originally but those are really made for urinating so they dont help much and they are very expensive. Elizabeth brought over a topical spray today that seems to give her some comfort.
Annie has quite an extensive list of medications and each one is very expensive! Unfortunately, that means we still need to raise funds for her. Her heart worms will still need to be treated as well but for now, she just needs to heal and get her bowel and intestinal problems a little more under control.
We are very appreciative of all the warm wishes and love shown to us through both your kind words as well as your financial support! This is a very difficult time and we are very grateful to have support!

I am reading through all of your comments this morning and sitting here in tears! I cannot tell you how much it means to me that you are all so caring and loving. All of your words of encouragement and love have really touched my heart! I know that you all truly "get" what I have been feeling. I am sure Elizabeth feels the same way. I feel like I have been on an emotional roller coaster. However, I feel like today, we are riding the flat part of that coaster ride. I am breathing little easier and even got some much needed sleep last night.
I know Annie has a long road ahead of her but I also know she will have a wonderful life once we get it all figured out. She is a true little Angel. She could not be any sweeter! I know, if she could she would also want to thank each and every one of you, You are all her heroes!!!
I'm so glad she's home!! There are no words for what you and Elizabeth have done and are doing for this precious girl. I love that smile in the car as she heads home. It's time for another donation from me too. Shared your update on FB and am trying to think of other ways to raise funds for Annie and DRC.
Thank you Cheryl! We appreciate it. It was once suggested to Elizabeth and I (while we were trying to catch Ace), that we should have a bake sale and sell t-shirts with his picture... Lol! We didn't have time for that, maybe you do...Hehehe
Lori, if I ran a bake sale, we'd end up losing money!!! Some people are technology challenged...I'm baking challenged lol
Lol! Well I am technologically challenged and regular cooking challenged. I can bake though. And thats the bad news for me. I try to stay away from that...Lol!
Thank you F! Me too!
"Plucky women" I rather like that title! Thanks BG!
I posted a new photo on the top of this discussion
Thank you for the newest picture. Annie has the sweetest face. She looks so thin, my heart hurts.
Nancy, she is extremely thin, BUT she is eating now so we will get some meat on those bones soon! Since they shaved her for surgery, you can clearly see every one of her ribs when she is lying on her side. No fur to hide them. :/
