Annual Malibu Doodle Romp in Sept.

I am pretty new to doodle kisses, but i am wondering why i did not receive an invitation to the annual Doodle Romp Sept 10 in Malibu from the Doodle Kisses group?  I got one forwarded to me by a friend, which i am very glad to know about.  It sounds like a blast.

I just checked the Doodlekisses events list and this largest gathering of

Doodles isn't even listed.

Yes it is. It is clearly posted in the events section of Doodle Kisses. Just click on the events tab and you'll find it.

It is fun.  Really fun.  There are a limited number of prepaid reservations accepted, due to space.  At least that is my understanding.  I think the organizers just rely on word of mouth.  Be sure to send your money in fairly promptly.  It does get full. We have been the last three years and have met people from Colorado and Arizona who came just to go to this romp.  It is such a sight to see so many doodles all together.

I wonder if the invitation wasn't issued by a group to all members of that group, perhaps the So. Cal group?  I don't think Doodle Kisses as a website invites anyone to any romps.

To my knowledge this even is never announced through DK.  I have been a member for 4 years and have asked to be invited and as of yet...have not been!!!!  There are people I know who have been invited but I really don't know what it takes to get one.  All of our regular romps that our members put together are announced and they are usually at the Arbor Dog Park in Seal Beach.  The next one is in September (we break for the summer).  The Malibu one is not put on by a DK member and that is why we are not notified!!!  This romp is a very private and selective group from what I can tell.  At one time I heard it was for Labradoodle owners only...sorry, I go the other way...I have a GoldenDoodle!!!   Anything we DK members put on is open to every one!!!!

The Southern California Doodle Romp is open to both Goldendoodles and Labradoodles, so Gracie will fit right in. My Goldendoodle KC will be happy to meet you! For details, you can hit the "Events" tab at the top of the home page of Doodle Kisses, and you'll see it listed as the second event there, along with instructions for receiving an invite. All you have to do is send a request to [e-mail], and request an invite. It's great fun, and most of the organizers are indeed members of Doodle Kisses (myself included). While we always post an announcement for it on Doodle Kisses, we don't send individual invites to all Doodle Kisses members. The announcement has been posted on Doodle Kisses for several weeks, but there's still room for a few more, so you'll might want to sign up ASAP. It really is a great event, and you're sure to have an amazing time!

Well, thank you for the info.   I thought the malibu romp was doodlekisses when i signed up for doodlekisses.   As for being exclusive - i don't know any better.   I got a forwarded e mail from a goldendoodle owner about the malibu romp and just sent them thirty bucks!

They better not turn me away.  haha

The Doodle Romp is for all kinds of doodles.  Wait until you see them!  All money raised goes to a dog charity.  One year it was the Pasadena Humane Society, one year the Malibu Humane Society.

 

As I said, I don't think it is at all exclusive, just limited space, so don't need to advertise.  Sign up now if you want a good time.  Fun contests, photos, good food.....last year My DH and Roo won 2nd in best kisser(Roo was the kisser!).
