Another Finn Dilema

I have had Finn since June 1st.  I'm sorta fond of the little guy.

Today, shortly after I got home, a lady called saying she had seen Finn at daycare and fell in love. She heard he was a foster and thought he would be perfect for her stepmom and dad and 2 brothers (9, 10)

They actually live in New Orleans...don't know where exactly.

I told her I would have to think about it.

I probably could use some sage advice here.

Linda, I think maybe he fell into your lap for  reason and if he fits into your lifestyle and you love him, I say keep him. You are not being selfish at all.

I'm looking at the way he looks at you.  The pictures don't lie.   I think he has made up his mind. He is IN LOVE.  Just look at him looking at you.  To him, you are his world.

I agree with the comment that if you are going to give this dog up to anyone they have to personally come to your home to meet him and you to interview them. You love this little boy and will not be giving him to just anyone... or maybe no one!

Linda, sometimes we don't know we are looking for dog, until the dog finds us.  If you can afford the addtional expense and love him.  Who better to give Finn a loving home then you.  Listen to you heart it won't lead you in the wrong direction.  Too me it looks like Finn is already home.

Oh Linda, tough decision. My guess is if you have to ask you probably want to keep him. Who wouldn't?!

Think about it carefully and logically and then do what you feel you should do as long as none of the logical reasons against keeping him are serious drawbacks. He is so cute!

Ditto.  And it's not the least bit selfish to keep him.  Not any more selfish than someone who wants to TAKE him from you ;-)

Thanks everyone.  I can afford him...of course, there will have to be a new suv in my future. I'm a pretty tough cookie and I don't lose my heart  easily, but I think I did. I'll sleep on it and talk with the family tomorrow.

Well... WE all LOVE Finn too and think he's wonderful... but I don't think we'd ask you FOR him... When she said that... how did you FEEL? Were you sad? Relieved? How have YOU been feeling with two dogs. I know... if you thought about getting another dog it would have been a "doodle" - we ALL say that. But he's just Finnadoodle! But ever wonder WHY THIS happened - that he wound up with YOU???? Think about that and then perhaps that's what you should do. But... Finn would not be for HER - she would give it to her mom... always makes me worried when someone "gives" a puppy to someone else...
