Another Lowes trip was in order today. We put Enzo in a cart, thinking they would be less likely to ask us to leave. Have to admit...at 47 lbs, she looks silly, but loves riding in the cart. We were met by " Lauren" who adores Enzo and always has a treat ready for her.

As Enzo was entertaining , the Mgr. Walked up, and I thought: " here it comes". Instead he laughed at her in the cart and he too, gave her a hug. I figured what the hell and came right out and asked about any new policies regarding dogs in the store. He sort of rolled his eyes and said in Ca. they have told their employees to go on a dog by dog basis. If a dog is barking a lot, if a dog is showing ANY kind of aggression , they are to be TOLD ( not asked) to leave. They were also told to watch " high risk " dogs. His words, not mine. I"m guessing this meant Pits, Rotties, etc. seems really asinine to me. He did say that MANY customers shop with their dogs and Lowes felt that these people would shop their competitor (Home Depot), if they could no longer bring in their dogs.
Makes no sense to me....but we were happy to hear Enz was still welcome.

Aw, love the picture.
Ahemmmm.... What happened to manners? I swear Enz looks for this girl as soon as we enter the store and can spot her a mile away!

So cute and I'm glad you were still welcome.  Now Enzo hasn't your mom told you not to stand up in the shopping cart. :>)

Mom tells her...but, this is a prime example of selective hearing, at it's best!!!

That's adorable and wonderful news that they will still welcome sweet Enzo.

Tragic news in our area recently (for dog lovers) is that our local farmer's market banned dogs. SO sad as the dogs were a HUGE part of the culture of the market. They took a "vote" in the slow winter months and did not advertise it at all. I only knew about it because Ragley's favorite vendor fans literally stopped us throughout the market to ask if we had voted. The step from all dogs welcome to no dogs welcome was far too drastic IMO. Having dogs there was not only great socialization for the dogs, but also for adults and children who were able to overcome fears and learn how to responsibly interact with stranger's dogs. Ragley, my family, and I are no longer going and I know of others who have stopped going because of this new ruling as well so I can understand the concern for loss of customers to HD.

Well behaved dogs with responsible owners are so good for the soul and bring so much joy to those around them. It is a shame that a few ruin the joy for the many.

How very sad :(. What happened to press a vote? In fact, we told the Mgr. To pass on, should Lowes ever ban us , we too would start shopping at Home Depot.( fact is, we shop there as well, but he didn't need to know that ;) )

Love that picture!

Thanks Karen. She is a goof for sure.

I want to hug Enzo * cute story , thanks for sharing it :)

Debbie: she is an equal opportunity hugger! All ((HUGS)) welcome!

Love the picture. I think I will try to take Cally to Lowes this week and see how she does. I should probably call first just in case!

Eh...the worst they can do is ask you to leave. I am really amazed just how many dogs are in both, Lowes and Home Depot.
We've been taking Enz since the day she arrived. Between all the people and hustle and bustle..she has become quite immune to noises. Today at Lowes, a guy rode by with a forklift. She never gave him a second look.
