- About Me:
- I attend the University Of Cincinnati for Early Childhood Education to become a Child Life Specialist! Cally will hopefully become a therapy dog, so she can go to work with me.
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- I have a F1B Standard Red Goldendoodle and her name is Cally, as in Calla Lily. We had to name her a flower name since we have another dog name Rosey. She was born on 8-20-13 and is truly amazing. She is my first doodle, so I am trying to learn everything I can. I also have a eleven year old Rottweiler who is also in love with Cally. Cally always has a toy in her mouth and can always be found by my side or Roseys side. She is a huge fan of water and likes to attempt to swim in her water bowl, which then in turn makes our dining room into a swimming pool!
I just got the confirmation that I will be getting Cally's mom Mary Gold in two summers when she is done breeding! I cannot wait! They will both be from Apple Creek Doodles.
- Where did you get your doodle(s)?
- Breeder
- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- My parents have a Rottweiler and that has always been the breed I grew up with but when I was looking for a dog that I could move out with and be able to take to any apartment, house, or condo I chose the doodle. And I honestly love the goldendoodle look way better than the labradoodles. I must say I know I made the right choice and I cannot imagine our life with out her.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- She loves to play fetch, go swimming, and go to the dog park!
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- Nope!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- Groomers at our local specialty pet boutique. They did a great job on her!
- Favorite Doodle Products?
- She loves nylabones, any type of ball and stuffing-less toys especially the goose one!
- Relationship Status:
- Single

The Life of Cally and Water

Cally is now a little over four months old and she is showing her true colors! I have come to learn that Cally loves water and will get to it at all cost...and I mean all costs. We started her off with two regular stainless steal bowls that sat in my dining room. Cally quickly learned that she could play in those dang bowls. Well…

But I will tell you a secret that might make their comments more tolerable to you. They are jealous, of the kind of care and dedication you put into caring for your animals. So they have to try to needle you about it, to make themselves feel better. I find that to be true in almost any case where a person tries to improve their own health or the health of those they love, whether it's diet, exercise, whatever. So be proud, don't let it annoy you.
Not really. Neither of my sisters feeds their pets properly, and we just avoid the subject. Same with some of my friends. The best you can do is say "I won't make comments about your lifestyle choices if you don't make comments about mine." :)

That reminds me, Valentine's Day is over. LOL
I hate to say this, but I'm not the only person here who has noticed that almost all the men who post here a lot with questions about their dogs are kind of, um....strange. LOL
There have been many over the years who were more than strange.
It's gotten to the point where if it's a man asking a question, I'm already nervous. Like this new ones with the little kids and the puppy who bites. You have to wonder why the wives aren't on the chat forum asking questions. I mean, it is called Doodle Kisses, lol.
The guy is clueless. Looking at his page, I see that he has another doodle puppy, Bailey, back in 2010. Wonder what happened to that one?
