Max seems to be regaining some of his sight!! Not all of it. He can at least see dark and light and he seems to be really concentrating on objects. I am taking it as a sign of good things to come. Also, it may be that the family is going to take Max regardless as most of you had thought "might" be an idea. If all else fails, he can be a pet and we can do a different dog. You know I am not sure which makes me angrier the fact that these drug companies know there are dangers and the fact that they ignore them literally calling the children they affect "Collateral Damage". Or the fact that is such a well kept secret. I have had a little girl, and I am 8 months pregnant with a little boy. Boys are even more vunerable to vaccine damage than girls and not once, not one single time has it been mentioned to me by a medical professional that my children could have a terrible reaction, receive irreversible brain damage, develop a myriad of syndromes, and possibly die from a vaccine that was developed to prevent something that is totally survivable today. The preservative that they use was banned from animal vaccines 10 years ago and yet we still have it in human vaccines. It's 50% mercury...a known neurotoxin. I am actually requesting the packaging from the vaccine they gave Max so I can file an adverse reaction report. This at least needs to be documented. Anyone interested in finding out more validated and scientifically confirmed cases of vaccine damage and dangers.....you know the one that don't exist? Please check out this website. www.vacinfo.org. It will really turn the lights on for ya! Sorry for the soapbox but as I watch Max pop his nose on the door facing for what HAS to be the millionth time, it makes me think. I know things will work out. Max will cope, we will all cope. Thanks for all the kind words and support. Sorry so long!

Glad to hear that Max is doing better and that family is still going to take him..Just maybe this little boy will help Max as much as Max helps him....let us know how they all make out...I have seen this work for the best before, I pray it happens again.
That's great news! I'm so happy that Max will still get to live with that little boy. Like others have said, they can help each other. I hope Max's sight continues to improve.
IM sorry to hear you going through this all. I also posted to you under the original post. Especially when it comes to your children go with your gut. There are many exemptions and such. Feel free to email me ;)

You could possibly mention to the family or see about a phone consult before you give them him . DR FEINMAN DVM can help Tremendously for vax damage. www.homevet.com
I truly am sorry that you all are going through this. The family that he is going to sound like a dream!
This is very encouraging news. Dogs can function well with only about 20 percent of their vision. Max may just have to get used to his "new" vision. When we adopted Mariner (who was blind at the time) I received some advice and I wanted to pass it on. Make as few accomodations as possible. He will start to depend on any accomodation you make and not be able to function without them. The only things we did in our house was to put "runners" at the top and bottom of the steps so he knew where the steps were. Also on the outside steps we used the sandpaper runners. The most difficult things for a blind or sight impaired dog to learn is going up and down the steps. To train him we used the ommands "step up" and "step down". The dog learns to completely trust you.

Good luck and again you can contact me if I can be of help.

Andy
