Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I read the book "Everything You Need to Know about Goldendoodles". Their suggestions for "chew" items were antlers and bully sticks. I must admit I was rather shocked when I found out what Bully products really are. I won't mention it here. Also, I was very shocked when I saw how expensive antlers were. I haven't bought either one. Penny currently chews on Nyla Bones. Do your Doodles like antlers? Does anyone give their dogs bully sticks (maybe they have the same toxicity as rawhide chews?).

"Antlers on the other hand last for months, so to me are a much better investment. "

I have large and xlarge breed dogs my labradoodle is still a wee pup. But i use antlers my st bernard can really beat a bone up..If you know a hunter than antlers can become free. Thats how I get mine.

Thanks. But I've been advised by several people that a dog can break a tooth on antlers so I don't want to chance it. Also, please read the one post earlier in this discussion. It's about diseases that deer and elk can carry which can possibly be detrimental to dogs chewing on wild antlers. I'm beginning to think almost everything can be dangerous...or gross. LOL.
OK, OK...I've resolved myself to the idea that my dogs should snack healthy. I've done research and I have learned Bully Sticks are digestable and full of protein. So now I need to ask which brand is best? And aren't the odorless ones treated with chemicals/bleach to render them less stinky? Does that mean I need to buy the smelly ones? Please advise. Thanks!
