There are a few posts in the Health & Medical Group about ear infections.

This is one:

It seems to be a frequent issue among our Doodles.

YEP.  I do, and we are not alone.  On this site there is a wealth of information regarding the care, cleaning, and treatment of those hairy poodle ears your dog may have inherited.    There are also many reasons.   Only one of my doodles has the problem and he only has it in ONE ear.  Constantly.

Do see a vet, read information on here ( there is a LOT ).   This may not fix what you are looking for but certainly when you have this problem it is good to know everything you can so you can stay on top of the constant problem.  I can't give you any advice, because if I knew what to do, I'd be rich.  But I am better at taking care of him and keeping the problem minimized.

Sorry for your Spud-muffin. My Golden grand-dog has ear issues but she seems to have grown out of it after years of troubles.
Thanks Bonnie, that's good to know.
My Springer Spaniel has ear problems.  We found that the meat source may affect the bacteria in the ears for him.  Fish-based kibble seems to be a culprit for him.  I don't think this is common and may only be a coincidence but we had constant ear infections for 8 months until I realized that we had gone to fish - based kibble - several high quality grain-free brands.  I changed to a different meat source and his ears have stayed free of the cruddy stuff.  I keep his ears clean.

We use THORNIT CANKER POWDER as a preventive.  We monthly place a small anount in the outer ear and are thankful that our Doodles ear problems have stopped.  Wonderful product and it really seems to work.

My sweet Alice has one year that always seems to have issues. She constantly gets the brown goopies and yeast infections. The best thing I have found is to keep it clean. I use the cleaner that our vet gave us, twice a week.

I have tried three different kinds of food, all at the recommendation of our favorite doodle breeder. The food hasn't seemed to make a difference for her ears. Both our doodles are currently eating the Costco food. It has good ingredients and they love it.

omg... Oliver has had ear issues since day 1.  I have tried EVERYTHING including vet issued ointment, ear wash etc. etc.  I found a treatment that cleared it up in 2 days, I think I found it on this site.  Try it.... it may work for you.  4 oz. zinc oxide poweder, 4 oz. boric acid power, 1/2 oz. iodoform powder.  I cleaned his ears real well with a gauze pad, I was using q-tips but the vet suggested I use the gauze pads because they clean the brown goonk much better.  After cleaning I dip a clean gauze pad in the powder and wipe it around in his ears.  Of course he does not like it but I have to get this issue of his cleared up and this seemes to be working like a charm.  This is day 3 and his ears are clean, dry and no brown goonk and they smell clean too :)  The iodorom power has a real nice clean smell.  Good luck.
Chloe had theat problem as a puppy but she's seemed to grow out of it. The doc gave her drops and cleaned them goos at the ver for us and we had to maintain at home. She still is very sensitive if you touch her ears though.
