We took yogi out on the boat yesterday. I think he jumped in and out 50 times. He loves it. I spent a lot of time the night before brushing him out well. After we got home yesterday and he had dried, it took well over an hour to brush back out. Not really matted, just kind of tangled. A lot like a humans hair might be after swimming or blowing in the wind. Any ideas of how to make it easier?
It's like it needed a conditioner. Any products to help?

I agree too--mine all just got their 5/8 " cuts...ahhh!

Agree.  Even with detangling sprays, drying a doodle is like trying to dry a soaking wet sponge :)) Drying takes FOREVER. By the time FInn's dry, he's gotten into something and has to be washed again. Plus the sand and dirt that gets into the coat.  We're all happier with a wash and wear doodle cut for the summer.

Cut the hair for swimming and summer. You may not love the look but your doodles fun comes first, right!

It grows back

Speaking of that, I think I will head to the lake. My dog needs to take a dip

When we know our guys are going to be in water, we thoroughly spray their coats with Horse Mane 'N Tail Detangler.  It seems to make the dirt/sand fall out and the tangles slide out too.  I have noticed that it leaves Ned Tangle free for at least a week, but on Clancy (who is my shedder) it leaves a bit of a 'wet' look on his coat.

We love the Isle of Dogs Silky Coating Brush spray and love it! We also use their shampoo and conditioner for our at home baths. We buy them on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&f...
