Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Today when I went on AOL, one of the main features was an article about the dangers of sugar less gum, and the use of Sorbitol and how dangerous it is for dogs. We here at Doodle Kisses are well aware of the danger, it has been discussed many times, but I was glad to see the spotlight was on this. AND the picture of the dog is a Doodle...Did anyone else see this today?...

I didn't see the AOL article (don;t like aol, lol) and there's no link here, but sorbitol is actually only mildly dangerous for dogs. It's xylitol that's deadly.
Some info: http://dogcare.dailypuppy.com/sorbitol-vs-xylitol-dogs-5952.html
So I found the article, and it is xylitol that they are warning about, not sorbitol. Here's a link: http://fortune.com/2015/11/03/xylitol-dog-poison-gum/
Sry Karen of course you were right it is xylitol, morning head around here...I was just happy to see that it was there to be read by people that don't know how dangerous this stuff is. and of course to see a doodle on the article. thanks for the correction...I have had AOL for so many years, and I have so many friends on it, I am too lazy to change...P.S. I am one of those people that hate change...Not hate, maybe fear is a better word, lol...thanks Karen..
I hate change too, but I hate censorship and spam more, and aol unfortunately is big on both. :)
I don't see a doodle, though. I found the article on the aol.com website, but when I clicked the link, I got the article I linked above on fortune.com, with a picture of a Lab. Maybe the doodle only shows up for aol subscribers or in the aol mail?
I have aol and I will check for a doodle pic. Like Cheryl, I have had aol forever and don't want to change. gmail is the one I don't like because it wants to control everything and become your main conduit to everything! :-}
Doodle on the Aol news feed, lab in the article.
I felt that way about aol.
I use Windows Live Mail, which used to be Outlook. It's just mail. No news feed, no controlling anything, no spam. Just mail. Of course, I don't have a smart phone so not sure it's a good option for those who do everything from their phones.
I finally got into the SmartPhone age when my kids bought it and set it up. They got tired of me not being able to get pictures they texted because the files were too big. :-} But. . . so far it is a phone and only a phone.
A friend shared this today....http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/common-sweetener-xylitol-blamed-for-d...
It's so strange to me that we've known this for years but it's just now being broadcast all over the internet.
I did a search and we have posts going back to 2008 about the dangers of xylitol.
We here thanks to you are light years ahead of the rest of the world, lol....
I second that sentiment!!
