Wondering if Parker is a likely culprit to bring in bed bugs to the house?(Other than him being a giant bed bug himself) Anyone know about this stuff?
UPDATE: Bug guy came for a second time today...we have been sleeping on the sofa bed for over a week because I knew he had to come back which to me meant they weren't all dead! I was working when he came today so my landlord/cousin came to meet the guy instead and according to her, he said he didn't see any signs of anymore bugs, and sprayed a LITTLE more...I asked for them to spray near my wooden desk since they like wood and it isn't far from the bedroom (I don't think he did spray by the desk which makes me kind of mad!) and then my cousin says that the guy said we might see a couple stragglers as they die and come out of hiding...
I come home thinking we were going to sleep in the real bed tonight, so I washed the new sheets and got everything on the bed and as I am doing this, I see 2 bugs crawling up the wall! I kill them and look around and find 3 more! SHOOT ME! I changed my mind about the bed...still out on the sofa bed...I read that bedbugs cause mental problems and insomnia...I can UNDERSTAND why...I feel like I have those mental problems myself now because of them! I want to move!
As you can see...Parker has no issues with the sofa bed...my back on the other hand feels otherwise!

Yah we haven't traveled anywhere but DF works in the city and catches the train so maybe he brought them in? Or maybe one of the people in the building brought them in...we live right above the storage units so we would be the first stop...I am horrified...I just want to MOVE now!
I found this on the Internet. Hope it helps.
Bed bugs don't live on pets or spend as much time on your pet as the more common pests (such as fleas, ticks, lice and mites), but they can bite your pets. We also know that bed bugs are very efficient hitchhikers and can be transported to your home via luggage, clothing, bedding, furniture, etc., so it's possible that bed bugs could also hitchhike in your pet's fur or its bedding or clothing.
You are right. The only bug I want in bed is one that looks like Parker!
Yah...I am blaming the neighbor's storage units or DF who works in the city and catches the train with Lord knows who! I had a meltdown when we found their "nest" last night! They were living in the wood our our headboard (apparently they like wood) and I made him throw it alllll out and bought a metal bed today! Bug person is coming tomorrow but I doubt it was Parker...he hasn't been in any trains, planes or motels lately!
Katie, What I read said to check Parker's bed too, just to be sure they didn't get in there too. What a nightmare! I am sure the bug person will tell you everything you have to do. Good luck!!
His bed is kind of our bed...he has his gator sleeping bag on the floor and doesn't really use it but I took that sucker and washed it in hot water and put it in the dryer for two cycles just in case! Pajamas, pillows, sheets, duvets...all went in hot water and then two cycles of the dryer to burn the little crappers! Also bought special bed bug pillow covers so once the pillows were good and cooked, I put the special covers on them. Kinda crunchy now tho...but I guess we will get used to it.
I will never forget when our daughter got lice. OMD. One kid went to school with it and 19 out of 26 kids ended up with it in the classroom. I was like a crazy woman for weeks. I threw so much out and washed everything. I don't even like to think about it. What a mess. What a lot of work. BUT, the good news is it only happened ONCE, thank God!! Your bug guy will know what to do.
Yah I hope they do know what they're doing! It's a general pest control company...not like specializing in bed bugs or anything. We threw out the sheets and the headboard and wood that the bed was sitting on (the mattress was on a plank of wood on the floor because our bed broke [cheap Ikea bed] and we weren't gonna buy one till we moved since the one we'd need for here needs to be very small and compact and maybe we would want something different in a bigger place...but I went out and bought a metal bed today cuz i am not sleeping on the floor anymore and I refuse to have a wooden bed now!
Some of my students and students in other classes had lice and I was so grossed out...never had lice when I was a kid (or ever) and went out and bought this "Fairy Tales" stuff that you spray on your hair to repel lice...I also sprayed my school bag with it as well and got lucky...the mom of the kid in my class that had it though was very diligent and took her to a professional nit picker and everything...some other classes, parents sent their kids to school with lice the size of sesame seeds on their heads! GROSS
But lice are very common. Just heard tonight that there were a few cases in our local school. Most school districts get some cases every year.
lol and that is why I go to school with my hair smelling like a citronella candle...hoping I will never catch lice from any students! Yuck yuck yuck!
Ohhh, we were at a cut-rate motel this weekend. I am afraid to unpack! Maybe I will put the suitcase in the tub and wash everything that is in the suitcase.
lol I would definitely be washing EVERYTHING in your bags! Bed bath and beyond has like plastic luggage covers to keep bed bugs away and spray that you can spray on ur luggage before u go to a hotel! You better believe I will be getting that now!
