Dear fellow allergy sufferers, are F1b's really hypoallergenic.  Have any of you suffered from sneezing, wheezing, teary eyes, etc. after you brought them home. I plan on visiting breeders but is that enough????????

I would take Todd's statement to heart. The coat can and often DOES change...so there are no guarantees. You are more likely to get a low shedding to non-shedding dog with an F1b -- because there is (statistically) more poodle in these dogs. But each individual dog in a litter may or may not be more poodley.

You might also join the Jersey Doodles group and make some connections with goldendoodle owners near you...meeting one dog at a time and seeing how you react.
You're going to need to be so careful if you have allergy problems. Our "rescue" puppy had to be rehomed because the prior owner had such a severe allergic reaction to him, and he is a multigen ALD. I can only imagine how it must have broken her family's heart to have to part with this beautiful puppy after "falling in love with him". So far he is completely "non shedding", and my husband who has allergies has been fine with him. But, for her the reaction was too severe for her to even be around him. So, give some thought to the comments about a medium poodle as an alternative. Even then though you will need to spend time around the dog to see how you react.
We have major allergies in our house. We had tried a different breed of dog that was considered "allergy friendly", visited the breeder three times and then brought a puppy home with the understanding that the breeder would take him back if allergies presented. Unfortunately, within three days, we knew that my daughter and husband were very allergic to him so the breeder took him back. This was very traumatic for the whole family and we considered packing in the dream of having a dog altogether. Then we had many people tell us that doodles were great for allergies. We found a breeder close by who had a litter of puppies. These were F1B. The hair on all seven puppies varied from super-straight to super-curly. We found the curliest ones shed the least to not at all. So we tried again, with much trepidation. Again, the breeder, who was so understanding and kind, offered to give him to us on trial to see how allergies would be. Our dog is now 10 months old and allergies have not presented. He has started shedding a bit, blowing out that winter coat, but still we are all good to go. For us, just visiting the breeder wasn't enough. We had to bring them into our home for a number of days to be sure. The breeders in both instances, were very understanding and kind, and for us it was worth trying. We love our doodle and wouldn't trade him for the world. As an aside, I don't think there is such a thing as "hypoallergenic" dogs. There are breeds that are more allergy-friendly, but allergies are a highly individualized thing, in my experience.
Thank you. Hopefully, I will find breeders that will allow us to have a trail period.
Our family has cat and dog allergies. As a puppy, there were no problems. Around age 2, it seems to have begun with 2 family members. If the coat is kept short and clean, it's more comfotable for everyone. Even with the mostly poodle type coat, there are a few lab hairs on our baby! We love her, though and it's all worth it!
