Hi DK Friends,
If any of pray, I could use some prayers for a friend. Her husband and two sons (my kids' ages) were in a terrible accident. They were leaving the lake, traveling on a dirt road and hit an area of washboard and it sent them over the cliff and into a lake. The dad was able to pull the eldest out and he got CPR right away. The youngest (2.5 years old) was not found by Dad but rangers were able to find him. The eldest boy has been released and is okay. But their toddler is hanging by a thread. The latest update from my friend:
"Riley was lifeless for 2hrs and 20min before they were able to get a heart beat. Over the course of the day and A LOT of work, they have been able to stabilize him. They are keeping him in a hypothermic state to help keep his body from over working itself. We have about a 24 hour window of time to wait while they slooooowly warm up his body. After that 24 hrs, we will have a better idea of brain activity. Warriors - we have 24 hours to move mountains."
This is never good, but when it happens to a child, it's heart-wrenching to think about because my son and her son are only about a month apart in age. So I can imagine how scary and painful this time is. Please if you pray, pray for a miracle!
Thank you!

I think it was very loving of Riley's parents to donate his organs to others in need. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
Karen ~ I was just checking for an update on Riley and hoping for the best when I saw your post. Incredibly sad. I lost my grandson 4 years ago today (he was 19). I can imagine the heartache this family is experiencing. I will keep them in my prayers.
Oh Linda, I am so sorry. I can't think of anything worse. :(
Thank you for your thoughts Karen and Bonnie.
A poem from a Mother who lost a child ~
If puppies live in heaven Lord
Please pick one up for me and
Place it in my child’s arms
And tell him it is from me
Tell him I love him and miss him.,
And when he turns to smile
Place a kiss upon his check
And hold him for a while
Because remembering him is easy
I do it every day
But there’s an ache in my heart that will never go away.
So dear. Thank you for posting this. xo
Beautiful.
Oh this is so special.
I am so sorry Linda. but this poem is very special. Thank you for sharing it.
Linda, thank you so much for this wonderful poem. I am so sorry about your grandson. I think your grief must be as great as his parents. We never expect to outlive our children but in no way can we be prepared to outlive our grandchildren.
Linda I am so sorry for your loss.
