Axl started limping & holding up his left paw the other night so we took him to the vet b/c we thought he twisted his paw during one of his romps around the backyard.  Xray came up clean but the bloodwork they also ran came back positive for Lyme Disease :-(  We had him vaccinated and my husband is diligent about applying the Frontline. How does this happen? He'll be on antibiotics for 30 days.  What happens after that? anybody else have this problem?  The internet is a scary place to read about symptoms and such...

Ugh!

There are some wild Guineafowl in our area, they are huge and so cute. My DH is always talking about getting some for our yard. Sadly, our yard is smaller than a postage stamp. I'd like to get thousands of them and let them loose all over NY state. :)

Moe, I like your plan! All states should have them as the official state bird!!

Hoping Axl will recover completely soon! Sad day!

Scary! Doodle hugs and Kisses from Amante!!

I have no advice but it is a good thing it was caught early before it made him sick. Gotta say, I love Axl's name.
