Kaela is 4.5 months old and almost 40lbs. Do you think she is going to be a giant? I think both DH and Kaela are astonished at her growth. You can tell by the looks on their faces! LOL.
Kaela is a duplicate of Thomas !! It is actually uncanny! I posted a picture above of him at 4 1/2 mths old but it does not show the resemblance as well as I would like you to see. YES I would say she is going to be big, Thomas is now 80 lbs. and he just turned a year old. If you go by the formula I have read on this site- 40 lbs at 4 mths: double it and add 10 lbs., that would make her weigh in at 90 lbs!! He weighed the same as Kaela @ 4mths and it seems he is still filling out now. She is beautiful!!!
WOW-it is truly remarkable how much they look alike. People always tell us how big Thomas is, but we don't even notice his size much anymore. He is Sooo gentle and sweet. So it sounds like Kaela with her good natured personality will also be a gentle loving "sasquatch"!!! Of course this picture was taken several mths ago when he was around the same age that Kaela is now. Also-he even has the same little blue ID tag that I see in her picture.
What a little cute teddy bear...I wish Rosco was that size still so I could hold him!!! Rosco grew 10 lbs per month til 8 months and topped out at about 85.
She is a big girl! I was hoping Yvonne would respond about Astro. He is a big boy - Peri is obsessed with him too! He is a gentle giant :) Kaela may end up big, but 90 pounds on a sweet, well behaved (maybe?) dog is not too bad in my book....one of Peri's best friends is a 95 pound lab and he is the best boy!
Oh she is sooooo mellow. She is the easiest pup I have ever had. I always think if she is this calm and easy in her puppy stage what kind of adult dog will she be. (This is her hyper stage??? LOL) She also was my easiest potty trained dog, she taught herself to sit infront of those glass doors and give out a bark. I only ever cleaned up like 2 pees and that was the first week. My Abby, whom I love dearly, took forever and we had to tear out the carpet because of her - lol. So I do think she is of the "gentle giant" variety.
I just want to pick her up and hug and eat her all up. I can know longer do this though because like a child if I try to pick her up she goes limp like jello and melts into the floor LOL! (She has decided it hurts her to be lifted from the floor and I cant get a grip on her to pick her up when she is lying flat and limp- heh)
So I sit on a chair and get her to come to me and haul her up from there. It is like hugging a giant teddy.
