Charlie returned back to school on today. Thank goodness because he has been one bored doodle. He works with a couple of different groups at school. Needless to say everyone knows his name. I was thinking it would be fun to do doodles around the world for his reading group. He has an area that is his to put stuff up on.
Doodleskisses is a large group with members in many places. Charlie and I were wondering if you might help us make this possible. We would like to receive a picture of you doddle(s) with name and where they live. Also if they have a special job, or toy, what makes them special or anything you would like to share. To make this even a greater adventure for the kids we would like it sent to the school to his reading buddies.
If you feel that you have an extra minute, please sent your photo to the address below: Thanks Ann and Charlie

WOW! What a great idea! Kind of like Flat Stanley! I'm a second grade teacher in New York on Long Island and I think this is terrific! I will definitely send you a picture and a little bit about Tori! I will have it out by this weekend! Maybe I'll even get MY students involved.. They know ALL ABOUT Tori! Good luck! I'll be watching. Keep us posted. Can't wait to hear all about Charlie and his buddies!
"Flat Doodle" I like that ideal. Currently his board at school is " Who's reading with Charlie?" I took pictures of the students feet with Charlie and we have blank books that they will write book titles on. I'll take a picture on Thursday and post. But wii keep you posted on the doodles around the world.
Ann, how many kids are in the class that Charlie works with? I have some dog tattoos that Ellie & Oliver might send to Charlie's friends. I was wondering if I had enough of them. Thanks! Kathy (Ellie & Oliver)
Oh....what a nice thought! Charlie has ten children on Mondays that spent time reading with him.
Kids love to get "free stuff"!! I know that from my elementary school teaching days. Everyone in the class, even if he or she doesn't read with Charlie, should get the small tattoo. I was going to send 25 of them along with the pictures. Do you think that will be enough? I should be mailing everything out in the next few days. I'm having fun being part of this project:0)
Kathy, 25 would be graet abd Thank You!
Ned sent a couple of letters to Charlie today. Hope he and his reading buddies enjoy them.
Thanks so much! The children will be very excited!
I will send a picture of my Therapy dog Luah too! She goes to an elementary school every week so the kids can read to her. She also works with an ADHD 5th grader. He is working on teaching her tricks using a clicker. We have found that it really helps his focus and most importantly his self esteem. He plans to show his classmates the tricks he teaches her at the end of the year. Hopefully Luah won't let him down! These doodles are great in the school environment not just because they are smart and love kids, but they can be hyper allergenic too which really helps add to their appeal with teachers and administrators. Great idea Ann!
Julie thanks. We also work with a 1st and 4th grader that have issue regarding coming to school, and a 2nd grader that is very over active in class. The first grader is also teaching Charlie using a clicker, the fourth grader like to hang and look at dog books with Charlie, and the 2nd grader loves reading with him.The feed back has been very postive on changes in those three. I understand we are about to add to this group. I'm starting to work with a 2nd grade teacher who wants to use Charlie as a reward for her class . We go to school on Mondays and Thursday and may end up adding another day soon.
Charlies Reading buddies got mail yesterday!. Can't wait for them to open. It will have to wait until next week:( It's not fair that we have a three day weekend right now!
Some of my RSP students wrote to Charlie = some as dogs and some as themselves. They loved the assignment as the lesson was to write a friendly letter. I will get them in the mail on Tuesday.
