Ignore puppy when jumping til all 4 feet are on the ground

Every time puppy nips or bites say no and give an appropriate toy to chew on. You can also spray a bitter solution (Bitter Apple, Bitter Yuk etc) on your hands or wherever puppy nibbles

Did you know there is a Puppy group on DK and it is a nice group to join and commiserate with other new puppy owners? I think the best thing is to find a puppy class. Lots of times when they are doing the naughtiest things, they are tired and time outs can sure help. I also swore by Bully sticks.  If you search by nipping, jumping, biting, you will find tons of discussions on these topics. Lots of these behaviors get better with training and maturity, but while you are going through them, it can drive you nuts. Good luck!
Have you been to puppy classes or obedience.? You get a lot of information at classes on how to control these situations.
If your standing up turn your back to the dog and ignore. When the dog bites you ' cry and make hurt sounds , slightly high pitched ,like puppies crying, this should tell your dog you've been hurt.
