My puppy is still having diarrhea. I was giving her chicken rice and pumpkin for about a week and once she was doing great I introduced lotus puppy food. I gave her 1/4 cup 3 times a day for 3 days and the rest chicken and rice and then increased it to 1/2 cup. Now she has diarrhea again. Did I go too fast? Also, how much chicken and rice am I supposed to feed her? She is 18 lbs and 19 weeks old. She is skinny. The vet said I could overfeed her but I can't figure out the amounts of chicken and rice anywhere. Also, when I give her chicken and rice she acts like a crazy maniac and gobbles it up like she is so starving! Vet told me to go to balanceit.com but I also could not figure out that site. She had a playdate which was a bit rough could that have made her sick? Lots and lots of pudding diarrhea is what she had.

Also I can't figure out how to put this in the food group?

I don't know if I can help you with this but I can tell you how to add this discussion in the food group. DO you at least know how to get to the food group? If you do, follow these instructions.

1. Got to the food group

2. click on one of the discussions

3. Look up in the upper right corner of the discussion to the button that says +Add

4. click on that button

5. Type your discussion down

As easy as that!:) 5 simple steps. They might be able to help you more in the food group. Good luck.:) Hope Bisou feels better.

Pumpkin has fiber which could be irritating with the diarrhea. Also brown rice has a lot of fiber. I would try just chicken and white rice for a few days.  But also rule out other causes such as worms.  Poor thing....

What did your Vet say about the cause of the diarrhea?  As for the amount of chicken and rice, when Guinness weighed 20 pounds I would feed him one cup of chicken and rice (I also included some fruits & veggies) twice a day with no dog food.  If you're supplementing with some dog food, you'd cut that back proportionately.  I would definitely put this discussion in the food group.  You should get lots of good information there.
