Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I have had Violet checked for allergies she is ok...once in a while she will chew off hair on her front legs and eat it ,a lso chews on her ear tips while laying down ...anyone have a doodle that does this ?
I give her a bone or something else to chew on and it seems to deter her from eating her hair...
P.S. I posted hile back about her agressive biting..she will be 1 yr next month and by gosh the last two weeks I have not beeen bitten...she starts to get wound up and I say.. go get you ball ..or gong or look at that (nothing is there but she falls for it )
I hope this keeps up ....she is a joy to be around and I love her tons ... (even with her bad behavior )

Congratulations on the decrease in her biting. My doodles occasionally chew on their paws, but don't pull hair out. My Springer Spaniel licks his forelegs a lot and someone here suggested Listerine. I spray it on his forelegs as soon as he begins to lick them and he stops. I am sure he hates the smell, but it has decreased the licking so much.
This sounds a little bit like anxiety to me. Is there anything that might be bothering her?
I was going in that direction too. Dogs can have a bit of OCD which can be related to anxiety or just boredom.
In my Springer's case, it is totally anxiety and habit, so that is what I interpreted Violet's as too.
