http://www.orvis.com/news/dogs/photographer-focuses-on-black-dog-bi...I posted this in the Black Dog group and then decided to repost it here. I just think it is such a cool project. The link I am attaching (fingers crossed) takes you to Black Dogs Project, but I am not promoting Orvis or their products. If the link does not work you can go through the Orvis site yourself or probably just google Black Dogs Project.

I fostered a black dog named Sam and am now sitting him for 2 and half weeks while his owners are in Europe. Here's his picture:
Look at that sweet face. I love it that Sam had such a happy ending and that you shared it with us along the way.
My previous dog was a black dog rescue. I did a blog about him several years ago.

Oh, Anne, I can tell from his picture that he was very special.
My previous dog, Ebony, was a black dog that followed us home one day while we were walking our dog. He was an incredibly well trained and overall wonderful dog and we were certain someone was missing him. We canvased neighborhoods, worked with the Humane Society and local shelter trying to find his owner to no avail. The Humane Society wouldn't take him because he was a stray and the local shelter said if we turned him in he would be euthanized because he was BLACK!!! Well, he joined our household, settled in seamlessly and turned out to be a fabulous companion for us and for our other dog. I'm so glad to see a corporation stepping up on behalf of black dogs.
He reminds me a lot of my most special heart dog.
