Boca didn't get a very good gift for her Gotchaversary

Today marks 6 years since baby Boca came home

Boca has been a wonderful family dog!  The unfortunate gift she got today finding out she has a torn CCL.  I've been looking at old DK discussions from others who have been through this and our experience with Boca seems similar to Jarka's with Monty insofar that at first we thought the minor limping was just over exertion after the occasional fetch (because we didn't run her hard often, we figured the consequent temporarily limping was just from not being used to the effort).  Then after the first day of the Walla Walla Romp it got much worse. This morning she got an xray and the vet gave us the results of a torn CCL. 

Sounds like no matter what procedure we choose for repair, the after care is critical and the chances of the other knee needing surgery later are fairly high.  I'd love to hear from those of you who have been through it and how things are going now and any recommendations you have.

TWO poops today! Yay.
First one normal, second one was soft serve.  I'm just amazed she can crouch down to potty at all.

She looks a bit like a monkey with my son's old PJ bottoms. The cone may be too small because I caught her reaching her stitches.

She looks adorable in her pjs! I think the cone is supposed to extend beyond their snout?? Glad to hear the pooping is improving! Funny the little things that excite us. Lol

I don't know what possessed me to buy two exercise pens years ago but they sure came in handy lately.  Boca's crate is in the living room.  We added one exercise pen to our bedroom for night time.  And I put one up in the yard so that after I give her a potty walk I can let her enjoy some sunshine for a few minutes as I scoop poop or recently while I mowed the lawn.

We used an ex-pen for Gordie.  Since we only have one, we had to move it from daytime to nighttime place.

OMD - Rosco just tried mounting Boca while I was leading her into her crate.  Holy moly did I break out into Mama bear.  Scared me so bad.  All she needs is an extra 90 lbs on her back end.  I didn't see him starting it.  We'd only just come in from a potty break and I only noticed that Boca wasn't going into the crate before I turned around and saw him on her.  I'm still fuming.  He got an earful and he's in the mudroom now.  Which is pretty much meaningless to him.

hahahahaha, must have been those pj's.   Poor Boca, but you can't watch every minute.  Naughty Rosco.

Glad to hear the surgery went well. Sending you extra patience and forbearance for the next few months. 

I do have to say the pajamas are quite sexy.
