We use moose and elk antlers in our house to keep them occupied!
+1 Except that we waited until Zoe had her adult teeth to give them to her - they last forever! I like the split ones -
Please search my name for discussions about the risks of antlers. To me, broken teeth are simply not worth the gamble. Stick with bully sticks and keep your pup well exercised, so that he is too tuckered out to do anything but rest! Plus, keep him confined to an area where you can keep an eye on him.
This is an ongoing topic of conversation here on DK-how to keep our doodles entertained. There are concerns about tooth damage if they chew harder objects such as bones or antlers. Here is a previous discussion that might be helpful.

If you decide to go with harder objects you might consider an insurance policy that covers dental as the repairs can be quite expensive. Fortunately, Tara is not much of chewer at all and her bully sticks last for weeks. :)
We also like the West Paw toys Myla chews on these a lot!
I forgot to mention that we can put a treat or frozen yogurt in these also which Myla loves. They are a softer rubber which she loves to chew on. She doesn't touch her very strong Kong toys and rips apart any stuffed toys! She does love bones, but we found that she chews too hard and I am so afraid that she will break her teeth (she also loves to sneak rocks so we are always trying to give her an alternative when we take it away!) This has really worked. As a puppy we gave her empty water bottles to chew on which she loved but as she got older she demolished them in no time!
