Brush recommendation for a new puppy

I was wondering what brush to get a new puppy (F1 with curls), until Les Pooches brushes are available again.

Sorry to hijack the thread but quick question: Which kind of LP (activet) brush is a good fit for large doodles with thick wavy fleece coats? And is the mat zapper good? Also one of my boys is very poodle-y (super curly). Would he need a different kind of brush? Thanks for any help.

I have a mat zapper I never use. Calla has thick wavy hair and I use a purple brush on her body.
