I've heard of a lot of problems with those lately!! Salmonella??? Be careful!!
Tina - I just ordered a box and although I don't know where you got yours mine seem fine.  I'd send them back!  Mine are all natural and the lady said that yes - they do go bad.  She said to store them in the refrigerator and do not keep them in a plastic bag.  I have mine in a food storage container.

Thanks Jane, I refrigerate mine too.  This time they smelt so bad I couldn't bring myself to put them in there.

I would send them back! They do have an odor, but if you have gotten them before, and this smells worse, I would not chance it.
Thanks, sending them back.
When I have given Allie bully sticks in the past I have always kept them in the freezer.  Mostly to slow her down from eating $12 too quickly (lol) but you could freeze them in the future to make sure they don't go bad.

Great idea!  Apollo inhales his so quickly sometimes I wonder if he even tasted it.

Well...considering where they come from?  It's probably a safe bet...:)
I buy the braided bully sticks they seem to last longer than the straight sticks.   I have had some that smelled stronger than others.  When I purchase them I put them in a zip lock plastic bag and into the freezer.  If there is any question of salmonella the freezer will take care of that!!!   My dogs LOVE them and now that it is nice outside I give them their treat outside.   Generally they do not smell,  I would send them back.
