Has anyone had any bad experiences with the bully sticks? I have read about some on the site letting their dogs have them. As much as Gunner loves to chew on sticks, I figured he would like them. Please let me know if anyone knows anything negative about them.
Only positive. Max is a chewer and bully sticks help keep him occuppied in the evenings while we're vegging in front of the tv :-) I buy from doodle country.
Molly absolutely loves them!! They are expensive but I like them because they are so digestable. She has had no bad effects from them. Maybe a tiny bit of looser stools after chewing on one for a long period of time and that was only once or twice and I can't even be sure that is what it was from.
I don't know what I would do if there were no Bully Sticks. My Allie L-O-V-E-S rawhides, and she was swallowing REALLY big chunks of them, so I was searching for an alternative. I learned that rawhides can get stuck in the intestine. I found Bully Sticks to be the perfect alternative!!!
Lilly loves them, and they seem to last her about a hour. I lay an old blanket of the floor for her to chew on them so the smell dose'nt get in the carpet. Lilly would get loose stools from rawhide and these seem fine..
Not a thing negative except that they stink. The dogs LOVE them - and they will last a while. I do take Abby's away when it gets short - I don't want her choking on it. You actually get used to the smell, it doesn't bother me anymore... Another thing Abby enjoys chewing on are hoofs. (actual cow hoofs) You get these at most pet stores too.
ok so everybody is saying they stink....but on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the stinkiest, what would you rate them? and what kind of smell is it? can anyone offer a description of this smell? :)
an 11!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha Well, to me they smell like manure. But you do get used to the smell - and I guess they make stink free ones too. I don't imagine the dogs like them as well tho. I think in a dogs world, the stinkier the better!
I haven't worked up the courage to get a hoovie yet... I don't think I could get past that... Not that Bully Sticks are any better for the human imagination...
