Stuart in his bed

Beamer - Stuart's full brother lives in Marietta, GA and one of these days when I take Rooney and Stuart to visit dd, we are going to get together with Beamer and his mom Jo.  I'm excited to see if they remember each other.  Jo just put some new pictures on DK of Beamer and it is so weird to see my Stuart in her house or yard - that is how identical they two look.  Dh and I can't believe it and we think once we put the two of them together that it is going to be very hard to tell them apart.  From everything that Jo tells me - I think they weight the same.  Is it possible for there to be twins within a litter?  Does it happen often that two puppies from the same litter look identical.  I'll try to post a few pictures here you so that you can see.  Jo - if you read this add some of Beamer!

Here is Stuart - although I don't know what age they both are in these photos to compare.

Jane, Stuart is so beautiful....so glad he found his way to your family.

All I know is that they are both ADORABLE!! They are two lucky guys to be rescued by such loving families!

It is hard to me to really show here how much they look alike - I don't have too many photos of Beamer to add - maybe Jo will put some up.  The ages are different, lighting but EVERY time I see a photo of Beamer - I'd swear as Stuart's mom - that it was him!!!!

Okay, this is really confusing.  I guess you were talking about identical twins from one litter, but if the ages are "different" they could not be identical twins.  It is possible for a egg to separate in early pregnancy and therefore identical twins, but all puppies from the same litter are twins.  Of course many dogs from the same parents may resemble each other and even dogs from the same breed may look "identical"  but when you talk about identical twins they are from the same egg and have the same DNA.  Now I am getting myself confused.

No Lynda - they are full brothers from the same litter so they are the same age.  I meant that I was trying to show you how much they looked alike but that the few pics I have of Beamer - they might not be the same age in the pics of Stuart.  Hard to compare then.

Stewart is one beautiful doodle :)

Wait, are both Stuart or is one Beamer?  I love looking at Stuart, goona go see if I can find Beamer obviously he is also a  beautiful boy,

Okay I am back and totally agree, they are twins.

Both boys look like they hit the jackpot of families as well. What lucky doods!

Did you mean to put up a photo of Beamer? I only see Stuart pics.

Beamer is the one with the bee toy - when I saw this photo I was confused for a second - thinking that Stuart doesn't have a bee toy!

So I'm serious when I ask - is it possible that out of a litter of 4 or might have been 5 - could their be actual twins?  Any breeders know?
