I am looking for recommendations for an awesome audio book that would appeal to both me and my husband while we are on a long road trip. Any ideas???

I'll look into that one - thanks!
My husband and I both read this book and loved it. Usually we do not agree on our reading material. For this reason, I recommend The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
Have either of you read The Help?
Let me ask my sister too. She is the queen of audio books.
I loved The Nightingale. If you liked that one, you'd enjoy All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. It's set in the same time period, but told from a different perspective. And, yes, I read The Help. Great suggestions. I'd appreciate hearing your sister's suggestions, too. Thanks!
Thank you. I actually have that book on my Kindle. I have so many things to read on there :)
I love the audio Harry Potter series. We like to listen to Tom Clancy novels involving Dirk Pitt, also any English murder mysteries that we can find.
Laurie, I asked my sister. She and her husband travel all over the place and do the audio books as they go. Here are her recommendations....
Pen Pals (I wrote her that we need the author), Memoirs of a Geisha, The Hour I First Believed, Rocket Boys or The Coalwood Way by Homer Hickam, Looking for Alaska or Paper Towns by John Green.
My favorite book of all time is Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. I wouldn't read it before a vacation :)
She said she looks at her library site and picks up CDs from there or downloads it by MP3 to her iPod. Hope that helps.
Thanks, Laurie. I'll check into all of those recommendations, but for now, we decided on Harlan Coben's new book, plus some This American Life podcasts.
I have listened to several books by Harlan Coben on audiobook - I just like his style and the stories... very complex, keep you guessing, etc. http://www.harlancoben.com/novels/
Thanks. We are listening to Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben, and are both liking it. Have you read it yet?
The Book Thief is wonderful in Audiobook!
Thanks. I actually bought The Book Thief at our community's book sale a couple of months ago, but have yet to read it. It's on the list . . .
What about 11/22/63 by Stephen King--NOT horror, I promise. It's long and I found it very interesting.
"On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed.
What if you could change it back?"
