We had a little trouble with AnnaBelle when she was little.  We quickly realized if we fed her too close to putting her in the car that we would be in trouble.  I would make sure there was a few hours after feeding her before taking her anywhere.  I would then take a little kibble so that her tummy didn't get really empty while in the car.  I also read something the other day about covering them up when you put them in the car that it seemed to make them more secure and happy.  Either just a blanket or sheet depending on weather or cover the crate if you crate in the car.

Quincy outgrew it- fingers crossed for you!

You may also try riding the pup up front in the front passenger seat. Hopefully, this will be something she outgrows.

Guinness got very car sick as a pup.  My vet prescribed cerenia...we gave it an hour before a car trip and it solved the problem.  As he got older, he outgrew it.  I preferred this to Benedryl because there was no drowsy side effect.

I agree with the feeding schedule, the further away from feeding to car ride is best. I have used ginger snaps with good success. Also, we gradually increased the length of rides. She is almost 4 and still barfs if she just ate, or it's longer than 3-4 hour ride. Good luck. Hope the ginger helps
Our vet recommended Gravol (I think it is the same as Dramamine), which worked great for our puppy when he had terrible car sickness.

Maserati outgrew it pretty quickly. We made sure to not feed him before an adventure and slowly built up our distances. He also did better as someone else suggested, sitting in the front. Thankfully, now he loves car rides and jumps into the car and settles in for a nap.

Polly still gets car sick at 11 months.  We can go 30 miles but she loses it on mile 31.  That has built up from 0 miles over these many months.  She wants in the car and loves 9 miles trips to town (Dairy Queen is her favorite spot), to the Flea Market 13 miles, to Lowe's which is 33 miles so we are required to make a stop if she is going along.  We keep an emergency bag in the car, paper towels, plastic bags and Fabreeze spray.  We just keep doing the small trips to get her used to it and keep our fingers crossed.  So far, just short trips for her but we are hopeful still. She has Dramamine but if we feed her it really doesn't help and we have to plan the trips because we are suppose to give it to her an hour ahead of time.
