Today DH and I went to town for some shopping and antiquing. I was feeling a little guilty for leaving Haley all day so we went in Petsmart to get something to give him when we got home. Got one of those large ChuckIt balls (about 7.5 inches in diameter). Anyway, Haley LOVED the ball but after 10 to 15 minutes he managed to get one of his lower canine teeth stuck in the canvas cover with his mouth wide open and no room to get unstuck. I was unable to push the ball away from Haley's lower tooth. Fortunately DH was home and finally got Haley and the ball apart. Haley will not be playing with this ball anymore. Just to a caution to anyone who has one of these balls or is thinking of buying one.

Several people have bought this and I was thinking I might. Now I guess I'm glad I waited. I'm glad Haley got unstuck. I'm not sure I could undo one of mine since you had trouble. Thanks for the warning.

OMD, poor Haley, this sounds really scary! I'm glad your DH was able to get it unstuck.

Anne, could you post a photo or link of the ball so we know which one it was? Chuck-It has so many different balls and this doesn't sound like one I've seen before.

Scary!

Luna just has the medium rubber chuck-it ball and the floating frisbee ring.  She has gotten stuck on toys, but only soft ones that were easy to remove from her mouth.

yikes!

Wow, this must have been frightening for you and Haley.  Thanks for the warning, and I'm so glad it all turned out okay.

Yes, been there already, done that already.  This is a problem with the ball. I was thinking of writing them just today about this.  Sad, because we do like the ball, but with all toys we have to supervise play.  And this toy especially needs supervision.

As requested, here is a visual of the ball.

And.. Spud does not tear apart his toys so  it isn't just happening because of a chew and destroy. This happens when the dog just tries and pick up the ball.   I think the company can save themselves on this one... It is called " KICK BALL"  HA

I will be e-mailing tbe company regarding the problem along with a photo of the tooth hole. Haley wasn't chewing on the ball. I was kicking it and Haley was fetching.

What a great picture of Spud!!

Thanks, Linda. I think  he looks good in orange  :)

Thanks for the photo. It makes the issue a lot more clear and now I know exactly which ball to avoid. It does look like a fun ball...too bad it has such a significant design flaw.

Glad your husband was there to save the day.  So glad Haley is fine!
