Sophie started her new Chemo Rescue drug on Monday. Dr. Jenny said if it was going to help that we should see some significant results within a couple of days. Starting on Wednesday morning she was taking some puppy treats as early at 6am. That in and of itself was pretty significant. By Thursday morning her external lymph nodes were significantly reduced in size. We have no way to know about the internal ones but she is eating which leads us to believe the swelling in them has gone down some as well. She is still only eating about 6 different types of treats, turning her nose up at everything else, but we'll take it. She has a lot more energy and has gotten to go for a little walk the last two days. She no longer wants to just lay outside in the cold all the time and has a tiny little pep in her step. By no means does it mean she is out of the woods or even in remission, but it is very refreshing to just see her feeling a little bit better than these past few weeks.

The good news is that she has had a really good week and a half. (at least compared to the previous weeks). Her lymph nodes originally went down however they have come back in the last few days. At least the external ones have. Since a couple days after the pills she has been eating like a little piggy although very selective about what she will eat. We have had some pee and diarrhea issues but seem to be getting those under control finally. She scared us a little this morning as she didn't want to eat and was running a slight fever. However by mid morning she perked up, started eating a little and her temp was down. I'm a little worried that her change in eating today might be a signal that the internal lymph nodes are swelling again. She has another week to go before her next chemo treatment so I'll be talking to the Vet this week to see what the plan is. Thanks so much for checking in on her.
Just know that I am thinking of you and Sophie.
You must feel like you're riding a roller coaster right now. Hoping the next treatment turn things around and she is feeling better soon.
I am so happy to hear this! I hope things keep getting better and better!
