Changes to the Forum----Like or Dislike?

Because we have so many groups that pretty much cover everything...I've gotten rid of several categories in the forum (behavior/training, grooming, etc) and have left only these categories:

--Discussing Doodley Things
--Announcements for Members
--How To Questions about Doodle Kisses (for when you need tech help or navigation help)
--Nothing to do with doodles (for off topic discussions).

I then redid the way the Forum page looks so that the categories are separated. Have a look at our forum page...and then let me know what you think of it this way. Pop in again after a few days with your thoughts in case you change your mind after using it.

Is it more helpful? Annoying? Better? Worse? etc...

OK--so I made another addition that might be useful for those who prefer to stick to certain areas of the forum.
If you hover your mouse over the FORUM tab at the top of any page on DK you'll see a list pop up with an orange background:

You can then click on the category you want to go to directly if you so choose...or if you click on Forum at the top you'll get the new forum page with all four categories and the latest activity in each.

Thanks Nancy...it wasn't much "work" --- it has been an option since the start, but ya just never know what will work best. And even when we had more categories, because they weren't listed by default (one had to manually choose to see them) they were pretty useless.

Much cleaner, and I like seeing all the sections right off the bat clicking of forum, but I would prefer the default number of topics in the discussing doodley things to be 10-15, so I dont have to click on it to get more than the first 5 topics.

I agree, but can't change the number listed. I could add a drop down screen under the Forum tab that takes you straight to the Doodley Things category--or each category so that you could go straight to what you wanted...would that help?

I'm kind of neutral about the new discussion format. I see you've been busy though, Adina, and the reviews are also categorized, which seems like a very good idea. Just wondering if all this organizing is "nesting" behavior?

Haha...perhaps it's nesting. I can't nest for real as our nursery is not ready to be moved into (awaiting a garage remodel to be completed first)...so I'm going a little nutso as I can't do anything with the baby things and boxes of baby things taking up every inch of my house that now feels like a storage facility.

But really this forum thing is something I've been tossing around for a while, not sure if it was a good move or not for a long time. Today I decided to plunge ahead and try it.

I like it alot. Much easier to view
