So...soooo....sorry I have been absent. Life has been full of ups and downs.

Charlotte is now 7 weeks old. At her 4 week checkup the doc felt a click in her hip. We had an ultrasound conducted shortly thereafter. The results came back inconclusive. We had a repeat one done yesterday. Pediatrician called me yesterday afternoon confirming she has mild hip dysplasia. We are being referred to an orthopedic surgeon (pediatric); we go on the 19th. Doc said to expect for her to walear a cloth harness for 4-6 months. Google it and cry with me please .

We will get through this and I am so thankful they caught it early, but who the heck knewy daughter, not dood, would have this ???

Sorry I have been away but life has been nuts. I lost my godmother to triple negative breast cancer in October. And life with a newborn is tough. But Tacky and Peri are excellent. They are in bed with me know while daddy feeds Charlotte a bottle. Mommy enjoyed some Cabernet tonight :).

I have missed y'all more than words can express.

I've missed you Allyson, and just assumed that things were crazy busy with a new baby in the house.  I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your godmother and now Charlotte's diagnosis.  Life has a way of "piling on" sometimes.  I'm happy that you have Tacky and Peri....our dogs have a wonderful way of bringing comfort during the tough times.  Please know that you have lots of friends sending positive energy and love.

Prayers and hugs to you, DH and your beautiful baby girl.
Oh Ally, like you didn't have enough to do with a new baby in the house. I see this often at work and although it is a nuisance, the babies tolerate it well and do get very good results with it. It being that mild that it was missed in the hospital lends me to think your course with the brace will be more on the short side. Sometimes they just have you double diapers for awhile to keep the hips spread.
If you are using cloth diapers, now would be a good time to stock up on disposables as changing with the brace takes talent and cloth are just too cumbersome. Just a thought. Keep us posted? This will be just a bump in the road when you look back in a few months. Hang in there mama.

I so hope this is the case and that the time will be very short.

We are already doing pampers. Sue thank you so much for your insight as a nurse. I hope once we meet with the ortho I will feel better. I do think it is truly mild because another pediatrician said he didn't feel the "click" at all.

I am so sorry to hear this. It is good to have caught it early. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis, but she will be okay!  They caught it early!  Actually, I had the same thing and I wore the brace as a baby.  Apparently it made for a little more difficult diaper changes, but other than that it wasn't a big deal.  I don't think I turned out any worse for the wear ;) Enjoy that sweet little girl!  This will be over in no time.

So good to know, Katie!!!! Glad you turned out ok :)
I'm sorry to hear about Charlotte. Praying for a healthy and fast recovery!
Thanks Andrea!!!

I'm so sorry to read this but good thoughts and prayers from us that little Charlotte will be fine.

I too was taken aback when I so the title.  So sorry little Charlotte is going to have to endure this and hugs to you both.  Sorry to hear about Godmother as well.  Hang in there and post some new pics of that beautiful little pink bundle when you have a chance.
