Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
After reading Karen & Jack's post, I think I'm probably using this discussion site wrong. . . if so, I'm sorry. Really, this is the best I can do. But to everyone who has been so kind about Chervil: she came home today about noon. She spent last night at the vet's, too, to make sure she was keeping her medications down (and apparently she was being loved on by his 8 year old daughter!). She began eating again today, so he felt good about her coming home. She was up and wagging her tail when I picked her up, and she's eaten well and is snoring soundly right now. Lots of meds and limitations on what she can do for awhile, but home safe and sound, so now I can finally take a deep breath again. For those of you who wonder--I would--total cost: $1,952.88. Which I actually thought was really good for a big surgery (with two vets in surgery), all the associated costs, and three nights staying with a vet who is pretty fantastic. xxoo to all of you from both of us!!

Thanks for posting-I've been watching for an update!! I'm so glad she is back home with her family and doing so well! You have an awesome vet!! Hoping for a smooth and speedy recovery!!
Yes, it's a totally wonderful clinic. Three vets (two are married to each other), and animals go home with the vet on their case. So Chervil was actually at home with two vets during those nights. Worth every penny!
I'm glad to hear Chervil is on the mend!
Wonderful news!
This is wonderful news! Thank you for letting us know. I have been waiting to hear that Chervil is home safe and sound.
I'm so glad she's home and recovering! What a scare. The cost seems reasonable to me, too, considering everything.
Glad Chervil is doing well !
So glad that you both had a happy ending! This had to be very scary.
I am so glad to hear Chervil is back home and doing better.
SO happy for her (and you) that she's able to come home. That must have confused her being away 3 nights at someone else's house, glad the daughter kept her occupied. The cost doesn't seem outrageous and totally worth saving your baby!!
Hope she's back to herself soon!
Great to hear Chervil is home and over this awful illness. It's great you have a good vet clinic that obviously treated her very well. When we put our dogs in the vets hands we have to just have faith that they will do the very best and in this case that is what happened. I don't know about costs as I am in Ireland. I do know that in the US the vet fees are significantly higher than they are here. Nevertheless I have Pet insurance should the need ever arise. Lots of Doodle Hugs from Riley (who is also snoring right now) !!!
Wish I had been as smart as you. I've always had very good luck with healthy pets (cats, mostly), so no insurance. A very nice credit card, though. Thanks for the sleepy, snorry hugs, Riley!
