Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi there! My doodle is now four months old and LOVES to chew. I am looking for suggestions on chew toys aside from kongs. He isn't interested in the nylabones. I was giving him bully stocks until I read the caloric content as well as bacteria potentials in them. Do any of you other doodle parents have similar product recommendations? Thanks!

Hi! My puppy seems to enjoy antlers and hoofs a lot.. I seem to buy a ton of toys to try and keep him busy.. :-)

Myla loves this toy from West Paw - she always chews on one leg and has the other between her paws. You can also stuff a treat up in the round part or freeze peanut butter in it.

I second the West Paw. They do last the longest at my house, but can be bit off in chunks if and when they decide to take the time to do so. We like them for pool toys in the summer as well.

Myla also really likes the "Hol-ee Toys" from JW Pets http://www.jwpet.com/dog/dog.html  I just bought one that actually has a lining inside of it so that when she chews it, it makes the crinkly sound that she makes when chewing an empty water bottle (which was her favourite toy as a puppy).  DH actually put a squeaker toy inside one of the bigger "Hol-ee" balls and she loves trying to make that squeak also, but I think that's more to annoy us when we're watching a TV show LOL

We love antlers. Caribo and Moose are our favorites.

We also have a bin of toys that they can access. Our living room floor is typically scattered with different squeakers, antlers, balls, etc... Maserati is almost 5 months old and the more variety the better he does. Our other dogs are 7 & 6 and also enjoy the antlers and toys.

Enzo loves a variety of chew toys. She loves to carry stuffed toys around, but she can be tough on them. I ordered 2 toys from the " DogTuff" place that constantly runs ads here.( one at the top of my page now). They are super tough and rated 9 out of 10. So far, so good.
I would avoid the Nylabones. I gave Cocoa one when she was a puppy, and she didn't touch it for months- then one day she found a way to eat it and threw up chunks of Nylabone. I think they're very dangerous! I let Cocoa chew on raw marrow bones- she loves them.
Thank you all so much for your input :)

I forgot to mention in my post that Myla does not like any "kong" toys - My take is that they're too hard but I'm not sure.  My last doodle, Zak, didn't like Kongs either.  I do keep trying and fill it up with frozen treats but she's only interested in it until she has finished the frozen yogurt or peanut butter and then she leaves it.  the West Paw toys and the Holee balls are not as hard and she chews on them forever.  She has lots of toys in her toy box but the two that I mentioned above are the ones she will pull out when she wants to chew.

We do the rawhide chews that look like miniature newspapers. He will work on it for hours, and hardly makes a dent in it. He loves it and it seems to satisfy his chewing urges. Gibbs is also 4 months old and really chewed a lot earlier this month when he lost his front puppy teeth.
Our Bella loves himalayan dog chews make of yak milk and lime juice and are digestible
